Excerpt

 

          In a quick, swift motion, the woman reaches in front of her again and when she comes back up, she has a black pistol in her hand. She pulls the trigger before Addy can protest and the bullet pierces his forehead, sending a fair amount of his blood splattering across my face, and to my horror, his body falls limp against mine. The back of his head is gushing blood and I gag as I register that what I’m seeing, is his brain.
